- ➤ Texas A&M International University will host the 29th Annual Western Hemispheric Trade Conference from April 9 to 11 where business leaders, researchers, and policymakers will discuss key trade issues. The event will feature 25 sessions in English and Spanish, two keynote addresses on topics including crypto risks and spaceflight finance, and a panel discussion, and it is free to attend in person and online. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On April 4, Laredo ISD responded to online claims that a student planned to bring a gun to Lamar Middle School by launching an investigation that found no weapon and no danger, and the student faced legal and Student Code of Conduct consequences. KGNS News

- ➤ Laredo ISD opened its online registration for the 2025-26 school year so parents can enroll students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade using the district’s Skyward Family Access portal—new students must show proof of residency. - ➤ Webb County Head Start and Early Head Start programs assist local families by preparing children from two months to five years for school and supporting pregnant women with home visits and advice. - ➤ Joe Troudt from Laredo Rehabilitation Hospital explained that during National Occupational Therapy Month, the hospital helps patients regain independence after being discharged from hospitals—treating conditions like strokes, hip fractures, and traumatic brain injuries.
