- ➤ Organizers announced the 30th annual Menudo Bowl, a family fun event in Laredo set for Saturday, Jan. 24. The event will include bowl tastings, wrestling, and a law enforcement expo (tickets are $15 at the gate, $10 presale, and free for children under 5) to support community safety programs. KGNS News
- ➤ On Jan. 10, the Holguin family received a handwritten chalk portrait of fallen Lance Cpl. David Lee Espinoza, delivered in person by artist J.R. Johansen after traveling over 1,300 miles from Salt Lake City for a heartfelt tribute. KGNS News

- ➤ A national organization is launching its free PTSD support program, 22Zero, in Laredo to help veterans and first responders heal trauma. Jesus Rivas said the program will guide participants using non-invasive healing techniques (no health insurance needed). KGNS News
- ➤ Laredo Public Health Department detected measles in routine wastewater surveillance on Wednesday, Jan. 14 but reported no confirmed cases. Officials will continue monitoring the situation and advise residents to check their vaccine status (vaccines are available at local clinics and pharmacies). KGNS News
- ➤ The Laredo VA clinic ended on-site foot care on Jan. 14 and now offers vouchers for patients to see local doctors for foot treatment in town. KGNS News
