- ➤ Today, the 30th annual Crime Stoppers Menudo Bowl is held at the 1848 Event Center with over 50 vendors competing for best menudo — local schools also present live music and cheer and dance showcases, with heating and sanitizing stations available for attendees. KGNS News

- ➤ Neighbors alerted a family to a house fire at 1:30 a.m. in the Los Presidentes neighborhood early Monday morning, and fire officials are investigating the cause. KGNS News

- ➤ UISD confirmed after investigating a student comment on Friday, Jan. 23 that there was no threat and officials said no further action will be taken. KGNS News

- ➤ City officials are preparing for an intense cold snap that will bring dangerous black ice and wind chills in the mid-20s with an extreme cold watch until early Monday; the city has raised its alert level and opened a warming center at Haynes Recreation Center to help residents stay safe. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Laredo city crews are continuing repairs on a water main break that began on Jan. 21. Work is ongoing today as officials address the issue to restore water service. KGNS News
