- ➤ Dozens of students helped clean up North Central Park on Thursday, Mar. 12 after the Kite Festival left trash behind. Organized by Keep Laredo Beautiful (a city nonprofit), the effort aimed to prevent waste from reaching the Rio Grande and offered community service credit. KGNS News
- ➤ The Boys and Girls Club of Laredo named its new CEO on March 12 at 5:58 p.m. Officials say the change is meant to bring fresh leadership to boost youth programs in the community. KGNS News
- ➤ The City of Laredo Parks and Recreation Department opened all splash parks for spring break week, including the Bartlett Pool and the San Miguel Pool, which will remain open through Sunday. Residents can call a splash park for more details. KGNS News

- ➤ The Boys and Girls Club of Laredo named Andrew Russell (former Navy veteran) its new CEO; he will introduce teen enrichment courses over the summer, renovate the downtown facility, and merge the Zapata club within three months. His plans aim to expand services for local youth. KGNS News
- ➤ More than 1,100 Laredo-area students have applied for the Texas Education Freedom Accounts program that helps cover private school tuition and educational services including up to $10,000 and $30,000 for students with disabilities, while families must submit required documents by March 17. - ➤ Laredo College and TAMIU will host an Open House at LC’s Kazen Student Center on Wednesday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prospective transfer students will speak with TAMIU staff + faculty and enjoy snacks during the event. Texas A&M International University
