- ➤ VMT students will showcase art, performances and a student-produced film at Caminarte on Friday, Apr. 3 at Casa Ortiz. The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and will feature creative work from visual art to live drama. KGNS News

- ➤ A time capsule from 2010 was opened yesterday at Laredo International Airport, revealing memorabilia (including a popular bobblehead) that highlights the city's progress; the items will be returned to those who placed them 16 years ago. KGNS News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students from TAMIU Honors and Undergraduate Research Program present research at The Capital of Texas Undergraduate Research Conference in Austin on Saturday, March 28. Presentations include a biology study on tissue growth (using Drosophila) and an analysis of newborn hearing screenings in Thailand with faculty mentors guiding their work. - ➤ TAMIU finance student Jose Bernus finished a competitive Summer 2025 internship at Vantage Bank and developed a Power BI dashboard to spotlight lending opportunities (a project still praised by bank leaders). - ➤ The Webb County Sheriff’s Office distributed 1,000 stuffed animals to law enforcement and first responders as part of its 12th annual Share-a-Bear drive to help comfort children during emergencies in Laredo this week. KGNS News
