- ➤ The Boys and Girls Club of Laredo launched a campaign Tuesday to raise $80M by collecting $1M per year of service, said new CEO Andrew Russell — the club will celebrate its 80th anniversary this July by renovating facilities and expanding youth programs. KGNS News
- ➤ On Apr. 1, NASA’s Artemis II launched on a 10-day journey looping around the moon and returning to Earth; local residents (75% tuned in a poll) expressed excitement and shared their thoughts on social media. - ➤ The Laredo Center for Urban Agriculture and Sustainability has introduced 3D-printed hydroponic towers at Canseco House Community Garden to grow fresh produce and support local students. - ➤ A former Laredo federal courthouse (at 1300 Matamoros Street) is being remodeled into a hub for small-business support and community programs using over $600K in federal funding, as part of downtown revitalization efforts led by Congressman Henry Cuellar. KGNS News
- ➤ Laredo Veterans Advisory Committee appointed Ricardo Quijano today as its liaison to seek a larger site for a veterans center near the old Air Force Base by Laredo International Airport after veterans rejected the small corner of Iturbide + San Bernardo. Veterans will soon review potential buildings. KGNS News

- ➤ Tex, a 7-year-old German shepherd mix with thyroid issues, remains at LAPS after a year at the shelter and is seeking a home. LAPS will host an Easter egg hunt (April 3, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and an adoption event (April 4, 2 to 5 p.m.) at Petco. KGNS News
