🎓 Education
Laredo College is hosting an open house (5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16) at the South Campus for prospective students to tour, register for classes and get help with admissions and financial aid.
The event welcomes high school graduates, undecided students and community members.
🏛️ Government
TxDOT said a dip on Loop 20 near Cuatro Vientos is part of the Lomas del Sur overpass project, prompting a temporary speed limit of 45 mph in the work zone.
The change is expected to last two to three months (as improvements continue) to ease traffic flow.
Commissioners met on Apr.
13 and discussed a proposal with Pillar to offer mental health support to teens through the juvenile drug treatment court program, which would run until Sept. 30 (with funding up to $80,000) if approved.
