- ➤ Boots on the Ground, a national nonprofit for trauma healing, will host an event this Saturday, April 18, from noon to 5 p.m. at Harley-Davidson on Crossroads Lp in Laredo (offering free services for veterans, first responders and their families). KGNS News
- ➤ Laredo College is hosting its LC Car Show at the South Campus on Saturday, April 18 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., where local car enthusiasts can enjoy a showcase sponsored by Gonzalez Auto Parts (Transportation Technology Chair Freddy Garcia said the partnership supports student scholarships and industry training). - ➤ DISH Network pulled local channels KGNS, KYLX and KXNU over a month ago after failing to agree with Gray Media. The channels remain available on other providers as Gray Media continues to seek a resolution. KGNS News

- ➤ Laredo school districts offer free formal wear for students attending prom, graduation and other milestones. LISD’s Belle of the Ball and UISD’s Glass Slipper programs serve 25 to 30 students per campus with gowns, suits and accessories at boutique events on Highway 83 — donations help reach more students. - ➤ At International Bridges Week today, local and federal officials cut the ribbon for renovated administrative offices at the World Trade Bridge — costing $3.3 million to fix mold and water issues — and announced that expansion work to add new lanes will begin in January 2027 to ease commercial traffic. - ➤ The Webb County Sheriff’s Office honored 14 radio dispatchers during National Telecommunicators Week at its new sheriff’s office building in Laredo, with Sheriff Martin Cuellar saying that the team saves lives and that most office functions now operate under one roof (a sign of improved coordination).
