EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Workforce Solutions is offering a six‐week summer program for local 17‑to‑24 year olds who have not worked before, with job‐readiness training and local employer placements at its facility (1406 Jackman Rd., Suite A). The program starts June 30 with applications due by May 15 and pays $10 per hour. KGNS News
- ➤ Students at Killam Elementary took part in a career day Monday when local professionals including doctors, police officers, Border Patrol agents, DPS troopers, and reporter Marissa Rodriguez Limon visited the campus to share job details. KGNS News

- ➤ Laredo Utilities completed a routine water treatment that changed the taste and smell of tap water & crews are now flushing fire hydrants, causing a possible drop in water pressure. The water is safe to drink and meets state and federal standards, city officials said. KGNS News

- ➤ Laredo honored WWE star Roxanne Perez on April 27 in a ceremony hosted by Mayor Pro Tem Gilbert Gonzalez and councilmembers Ricardo Rangel Jr. and Ruben Gutierrez Jr. Perez later appeared live on WWE Monday Night Raw at Sames Auto Arena. KGNS News
