The Society of Martha Washington announced Christine Holliday Cerda and Jeffrey Gerard Puig as Martha and George Washington at the David B.

Berkeley Cantu Chapel on the Laredo College Fort McIntosh campus — the Colonial Pageant and Ball will take place on Feb. 19, 2027.

Workforce Solutions is offering a six‐week summer program for local 17‑to‑24 year olds who have not worked before, with job‐readiness training and local employer placements at its facility (1406 Jackman Rd., Suite A).

The program starts June 30 with applications due by May 15 and pays $10 per hour.

Students at Killam Elementary took part in a career day Monday when local professionals including doctors, police officers, Border Patrol agents, DPS troopers, and reporter Marissa Rodriguez Limon visited the campus to share job details.

Laredo Utilities completed a routine water treatment that changed the taste and smell of tap water & crews are now flushing fire hydrants, causing a possible drop in water pressure.

The water is safe to drink and meets state and federal standards, city officials said.

Laredo honored WWE star Roxanne Perez on April 27 in a ceremony hosted by Mayor Pro Tem Gilbert Gonzalez and councilmembers Ricardo Rangel Jr. and Ruben Gutierrez Jr. Perez later appeared live on WWE Monday Night Raw at Sames Auto Arena.
