After nearly three years of renovations, the Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Center at Laredo College reopens May 5 with over 100 animals, new exhibits, a revamped reptile room, and expanded alligator enclosure plus a deer processing station offering wildlife courses.

Bethany House in Laredo has doubled its capacity to 56 beds and now operates 24 hours with a mental health unit and on-site paramedic from the Fire Department — available Thursday, Apr.
