- ➤ Bethany House in Laredo has doubled its capacity to 56 beds and now operates 24 hours with a mental health unit and on-site paramedic from the Fire Department — available Thursday, Apr. 30 to Sunday, May 1. - ➤ A local teen is turning Uvalde victims’ clothing into memorial bears to honor their memory. The project began recently and offers a heartfelt tribute for community healing. KGNS News

- ➤ The Laredo Stroke Support Group is hosting a fine-arts showcase Friday, May 1 at Casa Ortiz, where survivors will display 70 art pieces, and a salsa bowling tournament Saturday, May 16 with teams of five for $200 registration to raise awareness and funds for stroke recovery. KGNS News
