CRIME NEWS

  • Three people were arrested on May 2 at a Zapata home on drug charges — a search warrant led authorities to seize about 5.55 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 9.90 grams of Tramadol — in connection with an ongoing investigation.  KGNS News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Laredo’s mayor Dr. Victor Trevino said in a statement that the bond election showed the clear will of the people—no one wants higher taxes in uncertain times—and he thanked community committees for their efforts. Unofficial results from the Webb County Election’s Office showed 13,222 ballots were cast with 8,866 early votes, 4,333 on Election Day, and 23 absentee votes.  KGNS News
