- ➤ The Laredo Police Department kicked off National Police Week today with its annual Back the Blue 5K and 10K Run at El Metro Park and Ride, drawing thousands of runners who received a black the blue medal as they crossed the finish line. Winners of the 10K were Selina Balderas in the women’s race and Joaquin Melendez in the men’s race, & prizes were awarded to the largest law enforcement agency & the largest group or school. - ➤ Laredo police arrested 18-year-old Alyssa Jimenez when an argument inside a car led her to grab the steering wheel, which caused the vehicle to leave the road and hit a light pole on Saunders Street—The incident occurred a little after midnight on May 10. KGNS News

- ➤ Alexis Guajardo said Laredo College became a home where he grew from a shy student into a confident mentor on his path to a nursing career.
