- ➤ A traffic stop for expired tags on Highway 83 and 21st Avenue in Zapata County led to a drug bust last week—officers found over 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine on a passenger and over 4 grams on the driver—and both individuals, identified as Fernando Villarreal III and Krystal Verver, were taken to jail. - ➤ Laredo police reported a shooting incident on Sunday night when a person was shot at a home on the 400 block of Potrero Court in the Mines Rd area— the victim was taken to a hospital and their condition remains unknown. KGNS News
- ➤ Texas DPS stopped a red Chevy pickup in Laredo on Thursday—using a police dog to search the truck—and troopers found 15 kilograms of cocaine worth about $400 thousand and arrested the driver on charges of drug delivery or manufacture. KGNS News
