Three high school seniors donated over 400 toys to about 200 students at Matías de Llano Elementary this week through the Seven Flags Foundation founded by alumni Emiliano Torres, Roberto Rueda and Rafael de Llano, as the school is set to close next year.

Laredo celebrated its 271st birthday yesterday — residents gathered downtown along Main Street for a colorful laser show that marked the milestone.

City officials said the event brought neighbors together for a festive evening.

Laredo Public Health is offering all childhood vaccines required for school enrollment and COVID-19 shots ahead of the new school year, with Mpox vaccine eligibility available by appointment.
