- ➤ Laredo Parks and Recreation will open splash parks and select pools today and tomorrow for Memorial Day weekend—splash parks run from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and pools at North Central Park including Sisters of Mercy Water Park, Bartlett Pool and San Miguel Pool operate from noon to 7 p.m.—with entry fees of $1 for children and $2 for adults. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Laredo ISD students ended the 2025-26 school year Friday; Hector J. Garcia Early College High School held its 6 p.m. graduation ceremony that day, and additional ceremonies will run until Tuesday, May 26 while summer school starts Monday, June 1. KGNS News
- ➤ Graduation ceremonies will occur at Sames Auto Arena starting Tuesday, May 26 for LISD and Thursday, May 28 through Friday, May 29 for UISD, as officials enforce clear bag policies and ban gifts, glass vases, balloons, selfie sticks, tripods, baby carriers, and strollers (tickets are issued solely to graduating seniors). - ➤ Residents in the Jefferson Water Treatment Plant service area must boil water as a precaution; officials issued the notice May 22 and will update the community when the tap water is safe+ testing is ongoing. KGNS News
