- ➤ Laredo runners gathered at Max Mandel Golf Course on Saturday, May 30 for the Coach JJ Gomez Memorial 5K honoring the late Parks and Recreation Director, who passed away in December 2025. Every finisher earned a medal while top runners received trophies and prizes. KGNS News

- ➤ At North Central Park on Saturday, May 30, runners honored late Border Patrol agent Jose 'Joe' Martinez by raising funds for college scholarships for graduating seniors (he served as an assistant chief before his passing). KGNS News
