Today, LISD launched its No Cost Summer Meals program to give students free breakfast, lunch + snacks during summer break.

Child Nutrition Program director Robert Cuellar said families can learn more on the LISD website.

The City of Laredo Parks and Recreation Department is opening public pools today, offering varying hours at several locations (fees are $1 for kids and $2 for adults) while pools remain closed on Mondays for maintenance.

Webb County Attorney Marco Montemayor said nearly 250 vaping cases were handled during the 2025-26 school year as Laredo police note that vape pens are easily purchased online & that THC cartridges found in schools trigger harsher penalties, prompting families to keep a close eye on youth activity.
