- ➤ A 43-year-old man is fighting for his life after being struck by a van on Thursday, June 5 on the 400 block of St. Thomas Court following a road rage incident; a 66-year-old driver was arrested and charged with aggravated assault using a deadly weapon—more charges may come. KGNS News
- ➤ CBP officers at the Laredo Port of Entry seized alleged methamphetamine worth over $312,000 when they discovered 15 packages totaling 34.03 pounds hidden in a Chevy Suburban on June 1 at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge—Homeland Security Investigations arrested the 45-year-old Mexican driver and seized the vehicle for further investigation. - ➤ Yesterday, Father McNaboe Park in North Laredo opened its new skate park—along with an updated paddling trail plaque honoring community teacher Arturo Jimenez. - ➤ Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar said a federal judge’s decision blocked the Department of Labor’s plan to close the contractor-operated Job Corps Center in Laredo, where nearly 200 students attend and 154 live on campus — he vowed to fight to keep the center open and fully funded as it provides critical career training and stable housing.
