- ➤ Two Laredo men—Hernan Cortez and Daniel Elizondo—pleaded guilty on January 8 for conspiracy to possess fentanyl after one man brought roughly half a kilogram from Houston with the intent to sell the drug; they now face over five years in prison and four years of supervised release pending transfer to the federal bureau of prisons.
