- ➤ Two Laredo women advanced in the Miss Universe Latina reality show that debuted on June 3—where 30 contestants from Latin America competed in various categories—and both represent Mexico. KGNS News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Leaders, community members and city officials from Laredo and Nuevo Laredo met at UT Health Science Center in Laredo as part of the Binational Air Coalition event—residents shared concerns and ideas to improve air quality and plan for future changes. - ➤ City officials announced that an $11.3 million project to repair old water pipes will begin next Monday, June 16th, in areas where pipes have broken over 200 times and lost more than 17 million gallons of water—officials say interruptions will last only a few hours. - ➤ TxDOT is inviting Laredo residents to attend a public meeting on Mines Rd. to review project plans — the meeting will offer details on proposed improvements and a chance for public input. KGNS News
