Gateway City Pride festival will move indoors to the Embassy Suites on Saturday, June 13 due to logistical challenges such as closed downtown venues and rising summer heat; drag artist Serene Fantasea said she adjusted her performance to be more family-friendly amid uncertainty from Texas law.

The program includes drills, classes, hands-on practice, visits to various offices, and opportunities to earn community service hours and CPR certification.

TAMIU’s Office of Global and Community Engagement led the Fun Learning Conference in Rwanda and later launched the Open Bookshelf Initiative pilot in Laredo.

The program will use AI tools and multilingual resources to boost local literacy this Summer + share findings at the Unidos Para Texas Conference in September.
