The South Texas Food Bank is calling on community volunteers to sort donations and pack food bags for neighbors.

Laredo Public Library is accepting applications from authors for the 2026 Book Festival (applications opened Monday, June 15 and run until July 31); the event will celebrate storytelling and diverse voices on Saturday, Dec.

Flooding forced authorities to close several streets in Laredo around 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. Monday, June 15, and drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
