CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 27-year-old man, Fernando Machado, has been indicted on capital murder and 26 additional charges after he allegedly killed 20-year-old Frida Castillo and injured her family in a March 15 shooting in the Cheyenne subdivision—local officers say he fired more than 100 rounds and is now in jail with no court date set. - ➤ Laredo Police say 43-year-old William Jefferson Johns died on June 14 in San Antonio after being hit by a car on June 5 during a suspected road rage incident on the 400 block of St. Thomas Drive — the case will be reviewed by a grand jury pending the autopsy report. KGNS News
- ➤ LPD confirmed a hit-and-run suspect was arrested on June 17 after family members reported the incident — the investigation is ongoing as police gather details. KGNS News

- ➤ Texas A&M International University will close offices and key campus facilities including the library, rec center, and tennis complex on Thursday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth—Summer Session classes will be suspended until services resume on Friday, June 20 at 8 a.m. Texas A&M International University
