- ➤ The City of Laredo seeks volunteers for the annual Sister Cities Festival at Sames Auto Arena from July 11 to 13—volunteers will serve as cashiers after a free orientation. Applicants must be 15 or older, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and pass a background check. KGNS News

- ➤ Laredo police launched a search for robbery suspects after a robbery was reported on June 23rd—officers are following leads and asking anyone with information to come forward. KGNS News
- ➤ The Laredo Police Department is seeking community help to locate two robbery suspects involved in an incident on June 17 near the 1100 block of E Saunders Street—anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers. KGNS News

- ➤ Laredo television icon George Garza passed away over the weekend. He was a beloved co-host of Gar Outdoor Adventures on KGNS and taught children about fishing and wildlife. KGNS News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local government officials in Laredo are exploring ways to speed up bridge crossings — they plan to review options and meet with community partners to address traffic delays in the coming weeks. KGNS News
- ➤ Laredo began the first phase of an 11-million dollar waterline replacement project on Monday, June 23 to replace old six-inch pipes with new eight-inch ones along Logan Ave., E. San Jose St. and E. Ash St. Contract workers use pipe bursting technology to replace up to 100 blocks and reduce traffic delays—residents are asked to report any leaks promptly. KGNS News
- ➤ Mayor Dr. Victor Treviño said there is no need to panic as tensions rise overseas—city leaders are watching all developments closely. He said Laredo is working with state and federal partners—focusing on keeping our trade bridges safe. KGNS News
- ➤ A new bus route connecting Laredo—Rio Grande City—Zapata launched Monday, June 23 to improve regional transit. It will operate Monday to Friday with fares of $2 for adults, $1 for veterans and individuals with disabilities, and free rides for children under 7. KGNS News
