CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Laredo Police arrested 32-year-old Armando Riojas — who had an outstanding warrant for assault and interfering with an emergency call — during an ICE operation near mile marker 13 on Thursday and clarified he was not arrested for immigration reasons. KGNS News
- ➤ Two individuals were sentenced for their roles in a 2022 human smuggling case that resulted in 53 deaths—authorities said. KGNS News
- ➤ On Tuesday, June 24 at 2:20 a.m., a supervisor stopped a gold Dodge Ram (from the 200 block of Del Mar Blvd) when it swerved without headlights, hit the sidewalk and rolled on its side, which led to the arrest of off-duty officer Jose Hernandez Jr. for DWI; both he and a passenger were treated for minor injuries while he was placed on administrative reassignment pending an internal investigation.
