Laredo’s Sister Cities Festival continues through Sunday with free admission + a lineup of cultural exhibits and performances that highlight the city’s international ties.

Residents can join in today and tomorrow to experience the vibrant local celebration.

Laredo students expressed disappointment after an appeals court upheld Texas’ ban on in-state tuition for undocumented students, saying the ruling limits local college opportunities.

They plan to meet with education leaders+ community advocates to discuss next steps.

A free back-to-school giveaway will be held on Tuesday, July 14 at 9 a.m. at Sames Auto Arena, where 911 South Texas and the LPD will offer free school supplies for the first 2,000 families with children plus free haircuts, vision screenings, sports physicals and vaccines.
