Laredo Animal Care Services takes in about 7,000 stray animals yearly with only half the recommended staff and with funding constraints affecting its Trap–Neuter–Vaccinate–Return and low-cost spay–neuter programs; the city is building a climate-controlled surgical suite with five beds and groundwork set to begin in October.
The Laredo animal shelter is overwhelmed by stray animals as budget challenges limit its ability to care for them, and officials plan to seek community support & additional funding in the coming weeks.

LISD urged drivers to slow down near school zones as the school year begins, reminding motorists in Laredo to be extra cautious when students travel to and from school.
🏛️ Government
Webb County and Laredo finalized a deal to secure a second water source that will add 90 million gallons per day to the community supply – officials say it meets growing demand.
