- ➤ Laredo police arrested 36-year-old Brian Silva at a fast-food restaurant in the Heights on Sunday, August 10 at 1:42 a.m.—after he acted aggressively, resisted arrest, injured an officer, and tried to remove the officer’s service weapon, Silva now faces multiple charges. KGNS News
- ➤ An off-duty Laredo officer is in critical condition after he shot himself & local authorities are investigating the incident. KGNS News
- ➤ At a Laredo port of entry on Saturday, August 9, CBP officers seized over $400K in meth from a U.S. citizen driving a 2011 Ford van during a referral to secondary inspection at the Colombia Solidarity Bridge—Homeland Security Investigations later arrested the driver and is investigating the seizure.
