🎓 Education
TAMIU will name Aleczander M.
Whitfield as its inaugural Associate Vice President for Student Engagement and Dean of Students on Aug. 17 — he brings over 24 years of student affairs experience to help foster a supportive campus environment in Laredo.
United ISD will borrow $30 million to cover payroll and other expenses as falling enrollment cuts funding, and the board will discuss the plan today (Aug.
12).
Diocese of Laredo campuses saw a 10% enrollment increase on the first full day of school (today) as students join class rosters and community support grows.
UISD is adding new CTE tracks, expanding STEM courses + offering a hybrid learning option for students beginning classes.
The district says the changes will provide more learning opportunities at its campuses.
