- ➤ A week after a fatal shooting on the 100 block of West Clark Street that took Roy Villarreal’s life on Aug. 16, Laredo Police said they are still searching for suspect Victor Manuel Valadez—connected to the city's seventh homicide this year—and ask anyone with information to call anonymously. - ➤ Laredo mayor said crime in the city has dropped — officials note that improved police work with local groups helped lower numbers — and that efforts will continue to keep the community safe. KGNS News
- ➤ Father Alan Sanchez, who served for nine years at the Diocese of Laredo, was forced to return to Monterrey because his work visa expired and he was removed from his posts at St. Joseph Church in La Pryor and St. Patrick Mission in Batesville.
