ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Laredo Police Department reported an auto cyclist accident near exit 2 southbound on I-35 Sunday night—injury details and number of people involved remain unknown.  KGNS News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Laredo City Council will meet on Tuesday, September 2 at 5:30 at City Hall to discuss several measures including a proposed 2.5% wage increase for full-time employees and a 1.5% raise for those with at least one year of service—along with allocating $5 million for rail safety improvements. The meeting will also address the planned purchase of two new police vehicles for the Crisis Negotiation Team—one marked police unit and one Sprinter 3500 van funded through specific local funds.  KGNS News
  • Laredo City Council will meet Tuesday, September 2 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall to discuss large drainage pipes that pose a safety risk—while also reviewing changes to a vacant building ordinance and a request for two police vehicles.  KGNS News
