- ➤ A Laredo man was arrested on September 9th after allegedly attacking a dog with a machete. KGNS News
- ➤ On Aug. 29, CBP officers seized 4,241 pounds of alleged methamphetamine—valued at over $37 million—from a truck at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge cargo facility, and Homeland Security Investigations agents began a criminal investigation. LaredoBuzz
- ➤ A parent was arrested after an alleged drug incident was reported at a Laredo ISD school on September 9 — police are investigating the case. KGNS News
- ➤ District officials confirmed that Lorraine Lee Vasquez was arrested on Monday for possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone at Ryan Elementary School— the incident was reported last week and the investigation is ongoing with help from the Laredo Overdose Task Force. KGNS News

- ➤ At the Webb County Commissioners Court meeting Monday morning, officials approved the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year budget plus set a new tax rate of $0.3825 per $100 and declared September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month based on a recommendation, while also approving new personnel and capital improvement projects. County employees will see a 5% pay raise and elected officials a 2.5% raise as part of the updated measures. KGNS News
