- ➤ Laredo’s first assistant city attorney announced his bid for the 111th District Court judge seat on September 10 — his announcement marks a historic step in the local judicial race. KGNS News
- ➤ Laredo City Council met Tuesday to review a new ordinance for next fiscal year's property tax rate and approved a slight decrease set at .0506090 per $100 valuation that will generate about $134 million. The new tax formula also allows the city to borrow roughly $82 million for capital improvement projects — a change designed to balance revenue needs with debt service. KGNS News
