- ➤ Local leaders and veterans announced the Trail of Hope 5K Run to honor the memory of 17 veterans lost to suicide and support families facing mental health challenges — the event will take place on Sept. 27 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Father McNaboe Park. KGNS News

- ➤ Dr. Timothy R. Andeen from UT-Austin will present a free lecture titled 'The Search for Dark Matter — Collision Course: Particle Physics on the Energy Frontier' at the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m., with overflow seating available in Student Center 236. - ➤ Today, the Texas National Guard arrived in Laredo to assist the Border Patrol in securing our border—supporting efforts under an agreement signed by Governor Greg Abbott and working to stop illegal crossings. KGNS News

- ➤ Laredo Rehabilitation Hospital celebrates National Rehabilitation Week by honoring its staff and the role rehabilitation plays in helping patients recover from injuries, chronic illnesses, and surgeries.
