EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ United Independent School District launched a centralized program to provide specialized education—using certified teachers—for deaf and hard of hearing students, replacing outside resources with in-house support. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Laredo officials responded to a water main break that caused a sinkhole on the 200 block of E. Frost St. early Friday — the sinkhole swallowed a truck and residents received safe shelter while repairs are set to finish by today. KGNS News
- ➤ Construction work has closed the Maryland Avenue entrance to the Laredo health department, so visitors and staff now use an alternate entry — officials say the project is ongoing. KGNS News
- ➤ The City of Laredo Public Health Department announced that construction on its clinic’s Maryland Avenue side has begun—temporarily closing that entrance for four to five weeks until improvements are completed, while the Cedar Avenue entrance remains open. KGNS News
