- ➤ The City of Laredo and District 6 Council Member Dr. Tyler King held a press conference on October 2 at 9:00 a.m. at North Central Park—officially announcing the 3rd Annual Día de los Muertos: 5K Glow Run and Catrina Contest while providing details on contests, activities and registration for the cultural celebration. - ➤ Texas A&M International University is hosting its Fall Graduate School Open House on Oct. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center where prospective students can meet faculty and advisors and have their application fees waived if they apply during the event. - ➤ TAMIU's Banking Academy partners with the Texas Community Bank Honorary Junior Board Program to train students for banking jobs and help build local careers—TAMIU alumnus Jorge Maldonado gained hands-on experience in risk management that shows the program’s practical impact.
