The City of Laredo and Webb County are joining forces to fight bullying as new figures show many youth and adults are affected.

A mental health fair will take place on October 17th at Jovita Idar’s El Progreso Park from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.—the event will help the community learn ways to stop bullying.

TAMIU will host a public lecture on dark matter Wednesday, Oct.

8 at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall with overflow streaming in Student Center Room 236—this event will feature Dr. Timothy Andeen’s research on subatomic particles that hold the universe together.

The Laredo Fire Department proclaimed fire prevention tips this month and warned that improper stove use can cause dangerous gas leaks—residents are urged to follow safety guidelines to avoid fire hazards.

On Oct. 6, City of Laredo officials adopted a new anti-bullying policy to protect students and community spaces—officials said the policy will be rolled out soon.
