- ➤ Council member Dr. Tyler King reported Tuesday night that a possible mountain lion was seen at North Central Park and warned residents to stay away as Laredo Animal Care Service and Texas Parks and Wildlife followed up on the report—Laredo Police are investigating and have not commented. - ➤ Laredo City Hall recognized October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month when a proclamation—read on October 21—highlighted the skills and rights of workers with disabilities. Local organizations and businesses, including the Blue Ribbon Committee, backed efforts to promote labor inclusion. KGNS News
- ➤ Laredo residents protested the planned removal of the 'Defund the Wall' mural at a city council meeting on October 20—arguing that taking it down violates their First Amendment rights and ignoring Gov. Abbott's orders sets a harmful precedent. A letter on October 8 warned that city officials must remove street murals within 30 days—stating failure to act could cost the city up to $1.5 billion in TxDOT funds. KGNS News
