- ➤ Veterans Appreciation Night Bull Riding Concert will be held on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the 1848 Event Center, where top bull riders from groups such as PRCA, PBR, and CPRA will compete for prize money and buckles. After the rodeo, a music concert featuring The Homeboyz, Tropical Panama, and El Poder Del Norte de Arturo Buenrostro will take place with tickets at $30 and free admission for veterans with valid credentials. - ➤ The South Texas Food Bank said it is bracing for a surge in food help requests if the government shutdown lasts beyond Oct. 27 due to cuts in SNAP benefits. About 45 percent of people in the 28th District rely on food stamps and the bank will serve eight counties including Webb and Zapata—lawmakers must act to restore benefits for over 350,000 people.
