- ➤ On November 4 just before 7:30 p.m., the Laredo Fire Department reported a possible gas leak in the Wright Ranch subdivision—an engine was dispatched to locate the source while an ambulance treated a patient who felt lightheaded from the gas odor. KGNS News
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Laredo College’s musical production Working: A Musical will open this weekend at the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center Theatre to honor everyday workers through song and story—casting nearly a dozen local performers. General admission costs $10 while Laredo College students attend free with ID, and performances run on Nov. 8–9 and Nov. 15–16. KGNS News

- ➤ The City of Laredo Tennis Complex at TAMIU — featuring NCAA-level courts — will host a free 16-hour Coaching Fundamentals Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 9 with sessions running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and the event is the first step toward full USTA Coaching Certification for coaches of beginner to low intermediate players. - ➤ Today, the City of Laredo Utilities Department finished its biannual free chlorine conversion process to keep the drinking water safe. Crews are flushing lines at fire hydrants to clear extra chlorine—this step will bring back the regular chloramine disinfection method. LaredoBuzz
- ➤ At Monday night's council meeting, Laredo City Council approved an extra $67K in funding for women’s health services—boosting family planning and preventive care from April 1 to March 31 while raising the total grant to nearly $123K. KGNS News
