- ➤ Today, families in Laredo begin Thanksgiving with the 37th Annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing at Sames Auto Arena from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and upcoming events include a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on November 8 at El Eden Recreation Center, a Veterans & Community Pop-Up Market on November 9 at Vietnam Veterans Park, a farmers market with Thanksgiving chef demos on November 15, a marathon on November 16 at Uni-Trade Stadium, a Friendsgiving cake design event on November 25 at House of Play, and the 44th Annual Guajolote 10k Race and Walk on November 27. - ➤ The Laredo Fire Department responded to a hazmat leak near the 1600 block of Island Street in northwest Laredo on Thursday night and contained the leak—traffic delays occurred along Riverside Dr., Mann Rd., Santa Maria Ave and Calton Rd. KGNS News

- ➤ Sames Auto Group, a family-run dealership founded in 1910, was honored on Thursday morning by State Sen. Judith Zaffirini with a Texas Senate Resolution for 115 years of service and community impact—affirming its status as the oldest car dealership in Texas. KGNS News

- ➤ Journey announced that the band will end its last frontier tour with a final Laredo stop on July 2 at Sames Auto Arena — Citi cardholders can get presale tickets starting Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. and the general sale will start Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. KGNS News

- ➤ Adalberto González, a TAMIU junior and SGA president, was chosen for the World Affairs Councils of America Student Scholars Program. He will attend a national conference in Washington, D.C. from November 18th to 21st to build his leadership and cross-border policy skills. Texas A&M International University
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Project organizers said that plans for a new veterans service center and museum have been delayed by a leaky roof and decaying walls in the donated building — resulting in an increased cost of $5.5 million and a construction timeline that will extend by about one year. Webb County will provide $4.5 million and the City of Laredo will supply $1 million in funding for the project. KGNS News
- ➤ Safe Haven reopened at Mall del Norte immediately after services were paused due to the government shutdown so parents can safely share custody of their children with constant supervision — Webb County officials said the decision followed consultation with the county attorney. The program will continue to provide a safe environment during the shutdown. KGNS News
- ➤ Today, the FAA is reducing air traffic by 10% in 40 high-volume markets to maintain travel safety during the government shutdown. Laredo flyers returning from Dallas Fort Worth or Houston may face delays—airline planners are working to cut schedules as TSA lines remain long. KGNS News
