Yesterday, the Laredo Fire Department continued its food drive collection efforts—officials said the drive remains active to support families in need.

Ana Cristina Guajardo at Mary Help of Christians School was named Teacher of the Month for November—she received a $250 gift card and a basket of goodies through a monthly recognition program by the Joey Tellez Law Firm.

On November 12, a Mary Help of Christians teacher received a special recognition for excellence in teaching—an honor that applauded their impact on students.

School officials said the award underscores the educator’s dedication to learning.

The City of Laredo Health Department is promoting a new nasal spray flu vaccine called FluMist that can be ordered online for home delivery and is managed by FluMist itself; people with insurance pay $8.99 while others pay about $100.

The city will host a vaccine drive on Nov. 15 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 2600 Cedar Ave + the first 100 doses will be free with extra doses costing $30.

Frida, a one-year-old pug-chihuahua mix, is the Pet of the Week at LAPS and is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and dewormed—she fits well in apartments and small yards.

Interested adopters can visit the shelter at 2500 Gonzalez St. or apply online for same-day adoption as LAPS hosts a World Kindness Day event today to raise awareness about long-term shelter residents.
