- ➤ A binational Day of the Dead altars competition celebrates Mexican tradition as organizers plan for artists from both sides to display their altar designs in Laredo. The event aims to highlight shared cultural heritage and will feature community participation. KGNS News

- ➤ At a reception on November 18 at TAMIU’s Zaffirini Student Success Center, four Laredo educators received a $2,500 grant each from the Senator Judith Zaffirini Teachers’ College Student Loan Debt Grant Program—recognizing their commitment after teaching in Laredo for at least five years; the honorees are Dr. Nancy Vela Herrera, Dr. Valeria Christina Valdez, Dr. Ray Garza Jr. and Diana Medina-Rendon.
