  • United ISD held its first Thanksgiving turkey distribution on Friday morning — giving 240 turkeys to police officers, security personnel, dispatchers, and administrative staff to thank them for their service.   • Students from Vidal M. Trevino School of Communication and Fine Arts visited Kawas Elementary today and surprised kindergarteners by turning their 'ugly doll' drawings into hand-stitched dolls. VMT art instructor Clarissa Visarra + with support from Kawas staff + led the project that is expected to become an annual tradition.  KGNS News
  • Lyndon B. Johnson High School hosted a career day where over 100 professionals shared their work experiences with more than 3,200 students to help them learn about future job paths. School officials said the event featured local journalists and law enforcement agencies — providing students with real insight into various careers.  KGNS News
  • Texas A&M International University was honored with a Silver Excellence in Energy Award at NRG’s 6th Annual Awards Ceremony on November 21 — the award recognizes the school’s investment of over $20 million in upgrades including better lighting, HVAC improvements and water-saving measures.  Texas A&M International University

  • Laredo mental health advocates celebrated two months with no suicides—crediting the 9-8-8 'You're Not Alone' campaign and local community support.
