Mission Give Laredo hosted its 20th annual collection drive on November 22 — urging local residents to donate essential items.

On November 21, the City of Laredo and District 5 Council Member Ruben Gutierrez Jr. hosted Family Night Under the Stars at Jovita Idar’s El Progreso Park, where families enjoyed fishing, archery, paddleboats, lawn games, arts and crafts, s’mores, and live music by The Jolly Ranchers. For the first time, families could register to bring RVs—offering a new way to camp alongside traditional tent pitching.

United ISD held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at United High School to launch a new veterinary science program that will certify students as veterinary assistants.

Eighteen students enrolled in the program will complete 300 hours of clinical experience with seven local partner clinics.

Seven Laredo ISD elementary schools ranked among the top in the state by Children at Risk (Heights Elementary School ranked number one while five others earned gold ribbon honors), reflecting strong academic performance in the district.

United and Los Fresnos competed in a match on November 22, and officials will confirm final scores—details are expected soon.
