Bethany House of Laredo announced a $7 million project to expand its services for at-risk residents.
The expansion will add more support to the community and is set to begin soon.
The City of Laredo invites residents to join a vigil today at 6:30 p.m. at the North Central Park trail head (10202 International Blvd) to honor Brianna Aguilera, who died after attending a tailgate in Austin.

A binational celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe began Saturday, Dec.
6 at International Bridge 1 — moving through Zaragoza before ending at St. Augustine Plaza. Sponsored by the Mexican Consulate and Laredo Proud, Inc., the event featured local leaders including Mayor Dr. Victor Trevino.

TxDOT will close lanes on South Loop 20 from Dec.
8-12, 2025 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Cuatro Vientos Road to install concrete barriers and guide truck traffic + drivers should reduce speed and merge into open lanes.
🏥 Health
The Laredo City Council approved a new $266,000 mammogram machine for underinsured women; Mayor Victor Trevino said the equipment is vital for early detection on the north side and was funded through his priority funds.
