- ➤ Laredo Animal Care Services named two-year-old chihuahua mix Buddy as this week's Pet of the Week on Wednesday, Dec. 17. He qualifies for free adoption under the shelter's December promotion, and a vaccine drive for dogs & cats is set for Friday, Dec. 19. KGNS News
- ➤ This morning, teachers and coaches from 17 schools plunged into a pool at UISD's annual polar plunge to raise funds for the Special Olympics and celebrate inclusion. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ United ISD held career exploration sessions for students ahead of the Christmas break at local campuses; the events provided insights on various job paths (from training options to career resources) to help students plan for the future. KGNS News
- ➤ After multiple delays, Cigarroa Middle School in Laredo will welcome students today (final preparations have been completed) as officials confirm that classes resume on schedule. KGNS News
- ➤ Los Obispos Middle School celebrated KGNS+ 8th Graders of the Month as it honored outstanding students from 24 middle schools with guests including U.S. Magistrate Judge Diana Song Quiroga and KGNS anchor A.J. - ➤ United South Middle School hosted a fall career day on the last school day before Christmas break, where eighth graders, led by a KGNS+ reporter, explored journalism and broadcast careers to inspire their futures. Principal Carlos Valdez said it is the school’s first fall career day. KGNS News
