Laredo College is partnering with the Texas State Guard at its Ft. McIntosh Campus as the volunteer group holds weekend training sessions to support local emergencies.
Colonel Armando Garza said the Guard is ready to help with disaster response and civil defense.

Laredo offices will be closed on Wednesday, Dec.
31 and Thursday, Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday, with normal services resuming on Friday, Jan. 2. Garbage, recycling, landfill and Metro Transit follow modified schedules — recycle occurs on Dec. 31 and trash moves to Saturday, Jan. 3.
