A Laredo family is asking for help after a fatal crash took the life of a loved one—family members say they need assistance in accessing crisis support.

A 46-year-old man in a blue Honda Civic fled police after crashing into a construction sign Monday night in Laredo and was arrested on charges for intoxication, providing false information, and striking a fixture — officials are investigating the incident.

A self-identified member of the Paisas gang assaulted a U.S. Border Patrol agent during an arrest in Laredo when he became combative and was subdued with a less-lethal device during a joint operation with the Laredo Police Department—he now faces federal charges.
