  • Nora Villarreal, a veteran and former educator, has worked with groups like the American Cancer Society and Tim Tebow Foundation to help cancer patients, special needs children and local athletes in Laredo—she has organized events such as Relay for Life and Laredo Wears Pink over the past 10 years. Her family also supports her efforts, and she helps veteran groups like Black Widow LTX to give local service and prevent suicide—her work has made a strong impact in the community.  KGNS News

  • On July 29th, Billy Delgado’s trial continued as evidence revealed the victim’s injuries—witnesses also discussed past allegations during the proceedings.  KGNS News
  • Police arrested 3 individuals on July 29 in connection with the 2021 intoxicated manslaughter case—authorities are investigating further details.  KGNS News
  • On July 28, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Raquel Ibarra Carreon in a crawl space on the 3500 block of Cuatro Vientos Dr.—she had been hiding for four years in connection with a 2021 intoxicated manslaughter case, and two accomplices were also detained for hindering apprehension.  KGNS News
  • The Laredo Police Department is asking residents for help to identify a theft suspect involved in an incident on July 20 at the 2600 block of N. Arkansas Ave - anyone with details may call Laredo Crime Stoppers for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  KGNS News

  • The Laredo Library concludes its End of Summer Program by hosting Rob Holladay—The Magical Balloon Guy—for a free two-day tour at five branches with unique balloon art and comedy. Families of all ages are encouraged to arrive early as space is limited.  KGNS News

  • UISD coaches gathered Tuesday afternoon at the United South 9th Grade Campus cafeteria to listen to expert speakers from 360 Athletics—presenting key strategies as they prepared for the new school year.  KGNS News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials and Congressman Henry Cuellar joined El Metro leaders on Tuesday for a ride-along that showcased the largest bus fleet expansion in Laredo’s history. The upgraded buses were designed to reduce the city's carbon footprint + offer comfortable, accessible rides for seniors, students, workers and families, with funding coming from an $11 million federal grant and local sources.  KGNS News
